Saving energy – yawn?
Free Employee Awareness pack from Carbon Trust will wake up your staff.
Did you know that research by a leading international accountancy firm* has revealed that businesses in developing countries such as Turkey and India are more conscious of energy saving than their counterparts in the UK?
The Carbon Trust understands how difficult it is to overcome employees’ complacency – which may drag down your company performance. They have developed a great employee awareness pack. It includes bright, cool and witty cartoon posters you would be pleased to display in your offices.

Energy Saving Tips
Run a ‘Switch off’ campaign – it is always cheaper to switch lights off, no matter how short the time period.
- switch of your monitor when away from your desk
- shut your PC each night rather than leaving it on standby
Did you know that left on standby, a monitor will still use one-third of the electricity it normally consume when in use. It is the same for photocopiers and other electrical equipment. When heating, reduce the temperature of a room by one degree; it is unlikely that anyone will notice and you could cut the heating bill by as much as 10%. Most staff are comfortable at 19°C. Similarly, set air conditioning not to come on below 24°C.
